FRIENDS OF ST MATTHEWS, LEAVENHEATH
AGM – Tuesday 19th July at 7.30pm
in St Matthew’s Church.  All are welcome to attend.
 
COMMUNION at Nayland House Care Home
Each month residents at Nayland House enjoy a communion service taken by a member of our Ministry Team.
 
Collective Worship – Stoke-by-Nayland Primary School
Revd Stéphane and Revd Val alternate weekly to take collective worship at the school.  The children enjoy
singing, listening to a talk and praying together.
 
Visit to St James’s Church by Nayland Primary School
Revd Stéphane and Helen hosted a visit to the church by some of the children.  Kathy, David, James and Chris were posted around the church to be part of the treasure
hunt which enabled the children to learn about the church. 
The bells were tolled and the organ was played.
 
COMMUNITY PANTRY AND HARDSHIP FUND
There are now two Communities Pantries, in St James’ south-west porch and the main porch at St Mary’s Stoke, stocked with food and household items which can be donated directly to the pantries or financial assistance be given. FRIENDS FLOWER FESTIVAL – St Matthew’s Church, Leavenheath Sat/Sun 10/11 September.   The Friends are looking for more volunteers to create a flower arrangement for this festival.   The theme is ‘My Suffolk’.

GOSPEL OAK SERVICE
Sunday 31st July, 10am, at St Mary’s, Polstead
All are welcome to join this wonderful service which has been held annually at St Mary’s since 1902 to celebrate St Cedd’s mission to spread Christianity around East Anglia.  The Boxted Methodist Silver Band will be playing too!
Refreshments served afterwards.

EVERY Wednesday 10-12noon Coffee/tea is served in St James’ Nayland.  Do pop in and enjoy a hot drink, delicious cakes and a chat.

From Monday 7th March we will be holding a short weekly Holy Communion service in St James’ Nayland at 10am.  All are welcome!  We would also like to start running a baby/toddler group in the church after the communion service to give parents and carers the opportunity to meet and relax over a cup of coffee in the church.  If you would be able to help with refreshments and a warm welcome

I’m sorry there is no Children’s Worksheet this week, there has been a change in the publisher’s permission to use this content, hopefully this will be resolved soon.

Community pantry & Financial Assistance Fund

Thank you for all the items generously donated to the community pantry. Currently, we do not need any more tinned tomatoes or beans. But we do need fresh veg and fruit, long-life milk, butter, cereal, tea and instant coffee, toiletries, toilets rolls and cleaning materials, also pasta, rice, tinned tomatoes, sugar, tinned fruit, crisps and cereal. 

Please keep spreading the word that this is a resource for anyone in our villages, whether their need is occasional or regular. There is also a fund for those in need of financial assistance, perhaps with school uniforms and shoes, essential or unexpected bills. Please do feel free to contact Rev Val Armstrong who can assist you in complete confidentiality, Tel: 01206262812 Email: mrsvarmstrong@hotmail.com It is also possible to have a delivery arranged for those unable to get to the Community Pantry in Nayland, again please contact Rev Val about this.
