At the Churchwardens/ministry team meeting, it was agreed that each church should now make their own decisions on what is safe and practical in their buildings. We should still be encouraging people to be considerate and sensible about social distancing, especially with regard to those who are wearing masks. Everyone who feels more comfortable to continue wearing masks should be encouraged and supported. In church and in the village hall, please enable social distancing in the set up of seating. Sanitising gel will still be provided and we recommend its use until further notice.
We made no change in our advice in respect of the distribution of communion. We do not feel that the majority of people would be comfortable sharing the common cup. Intincting by individual communicants is still not permitted but the priest is allowed to co- mingle the host. Therefore, I will continue to administer the bread, either on its own or dipped in the cup by me as each communicant indicates their wish. I will explain these options at the beginning of each communion service. However, visiting clergy retain the right to specify how they wish to administer communion.
There is no online service this week. The link below will take you the worship page of St. Edmundsbury Cathedral where you will find the times and links to their online services (and service sheets), which can also be accessed through their Facebook page. https://st.edscathedral.org/worship
