Merging of our two benefices into one

Whilst for all practical reasons our five churches work together as one, technically we are two separate benefices:

(1) Nayland with Wissington
(2) Stoke by Nayland with Leavenheath and Polstead

All five PCC’s have now requested that our two benefices are legally united into one, and the draft scheme can be viewed via the link below:

Draft Scheme Proposals for Consultation

The public consultation  about this was originally published and began on the 23rd March 2020 and was subsequently due to conclude on the 30th June 2020, however, because of COVID-19 and the suspension of public worship in churches, the consultation period has now been extended until MONDAY 20th JULY 2020.

Should you with to make a representation to the Church Commissioners regarding this proposal, you should do so in writing, either by post or electronically. You can do this in one of two ways:

Email the Church Commissioners, c/o james.davidson-brett@churchofengland.org with a subject heading of “I would like to make a Representation“.

Write to: James Davidson-Brett, Pastoral Division, Church Commissioners, Great Smith St, London, SW1P 3AZ
